Até ao momento já foram recolhidos duzentos e setenta mil sacos plásticos nos distritos de Morrumbene, Massinga, Vilanculo, cidades de Inhambane e Maxixe.

A recolha incidiu sobretudo nos estabelecimentos comerciais que se dedicavam a comercialização de sacos de plásticos de trinta micrómetros, tidos como os mais prejudicais ao meio ambiente.

 O delegado da INAE, Inspecção nacional de Actividades Económicas em Inhambane, Ernesto Tafula, disse que prorrogativa da entrega voluntária daquele material para a sua destruição já terminou, estando neste momento a decorrer uma recolha coerciva.

A fonte mostrou-se preocupada com a existência ainda, de pessoas que fazem a comercialização do saco plástico não biodegradável.
